i’ll tuck you away for later

my darling and i went to the ventura flea market at the fairgrounds yesterday for some fresh air and good finds. we got a few dresses for the store and then some fun vintage jewelry for my personal collection! there were bins and bins FULL of pins, earrings, brooches, watches, bangles and random miscellaneous costume jewelry at this one booth that came from an estate sale at a mansion in beverly hills. i could have spent the whole day rummaging through them, but the wind was blowing and the allergies were hitting so i sped through and found some beautiful pieces!

today we spent the day lounging in the park and enjoying the sunshine.

NEW IN THE STORE!!!

i absolutely love looking through all of my mom’s things because whether it’s clothes, jewelry or just stuff in general, i always seem to find the very best of treasures.

we went up into the attic today and i found a bunch of old pictures that i absolutely had to keep for myself! it’s always fun looking at pictures of my mom and dad growing up because i get to see who they were and what they were all about and lust over the ridiculously amazing clothes!

i found this one of my mom and her girlfriend pattie in hawai’i and thought it was the cutest thing in the world. i wish i had those freckles!

having a boo radley moment, are we?

my sweetheart and i went thrift store shopping today and had incredible success! we stopped for lunch at thai chinese food for garlic tofu over rice and a delicious thai iced tea before continuing our thrift shop hop through oxnard. now we’re home and i can’t wait to put together ensembles with all of the new stuff and put them in the sugar darling vintage store! xoxo

i believe in the sand beneath my toes

i think the best way to get the ball rolling on this world wide web blog of mine is to offer up some useless information about myself in hopes that people will find me interesting and keep coming back for more!

up until now i have had a strange resistance to the modern wonders of technology. i still prefer to hand-write almost everything from appointments on a paper calendar to addresses of dear friends in an address book even though i have the luxury of an iPhone. i write lists like it’s nobody’s business and i’m not quite sure if i can give that up!

i don’t know much about fashion, but i truly believe that the way we dress is an expression of our innermost whims. there is no right or wrong as long as your clothes make you feel beautiful.

i feel a very strong gravitational pull towards the ocean, which stems from my belief that i was a mermaid in my past life.

my inner monologue speaks in a british accent…which may explain my thorough enjoyment of jane austen novels.

i adore pinup girls…i think they are the perfect combination of innocent good-girl and scandalous minx.

my wildest dream is to sell all of my belongings and travel the world with the love of my life.
