Bridal Party Luncheon

A few weeks ago I threw a brunch for my bridesmaids and the important women in my life to show everyone my appreciation for all of their love and support. The Santa Ana winds had been threatening to ruin the party for the whole week leading up to the day, but we woke up that morning and everything was calm and the sun was warming our faces. We kicked the celebration off with champagne and much needed catching up.

For all of the ladies in attendance, I had embroidered each of their initials and the date of the wedding onto a vintage hankie. It took a long time to satin stitch each letter, but I thought that they were so sweet and dainty and they went over so well with everyone. I also gave each of my bridesmaids a gift certificate to get manicures and pedicures the day before the wedding. The cards were tied to bright colored flip flops with orange flowers glued on to match the colors of the wedding. I presented my three very best friends with strands of antique pearls to wear to give them that bit of vintage glamour and to show them how much I appreciated the fact that they let me rant about every little wedding detail and helped me through all of my panic attacks.

The best part was when my mom gave me the garter that she wore on her wedding day, which was given to her by my grandmother who wore it on her wedding day, which was passed down to her by my great grandmother who wore it on her wedding day. The garter has a tiny little pocket which holds a penny from each year that it was worn, and my mom had added a 2009 penny for me. It was the most wonderful gift and goes perfectly with my love of all things vintage!

It was a relaxing day spent with beautiful friends and lovely conversation <3
