for the love of breakfast

If I could have breakfast for every meal for the rest of my life, I would die a happy, old, waffle-filled woman. Tim often makes fun of me because I absolutely MUST have breakfast as my first meal…even if we sleep in and don’t get out of bed until lunchtime. I’m just an eggs-and-home fries/oatmeal-and-berries/bagel-and-cream cheese kind of girl! So you can imagine my delight when I came across the blog Simply Breakfast and nearly had a pancake-induced heart attack. The pictures are simple and lovely, and evoke feelings of waking up at your mom’s house and coming to the kitchen to find that she has set out a scrumptious breakfast for you (which my mom ALWAYS does). Set with a steaming cup of coffee, beautiful napkins, and fresh flowers, these perfectly lit pictures make my breakfast dreams come true.

Have you seen the new Anthropologie catalog? You know, the one with ALL THE AMAZING SWIMSUITS??? Yes, that one. Well I have been drooling over them for quite some time…I even have dreams where I’m running in slow motion on a beach wearing one of these delicious bathing wonders! In my dream I’m also accessorized to the max with cute jewelry and a beach bag that is so nice that I probably wouldn’t get it within five miles of a sandy beach in real life. I put together a little fantasy outfit inspired by california sunsets, bright blue skies, and summer sunshine. Now bring on the popsicles!

Everyone has been making posts like “summer is here!” and “break out the tank tops!”…but here in New York, spring hasn’t even peeked his little head out yet!  While all of you west coasters are complaining about the 90* heat (oh boohoo for you), I’m over here hugging my radiator while wrapped up in three blankets just to get warm!  Aye chihuahua.  I can’t think about summer yet!  With dreary skies and wind-chapped skin…all I can do is close my eyes and dream about spring.
